Then we bought a new pushmower since the riding mower that came with our house died during the winter. It was a good run for the ole Poulan. Ben mowed in the pouring rain, then it stopped as he finished the last patch. Typical.
Look! We have a grassy area the dogs haven't trampled to death yet.Baker was being incredibly clingy, glued to me and staring. My favorite.
Ben totally cleaned up the shop. This was the 60% finished progress, and now it's all organized and cleaned up completely. So glad he finally had time to do it.
You sit down, he close talks and hugs. I love that ole fatty. I look like my brother here. Bummer.
Once the rain set in again, I went inside to deep clean the house as is my Saturday ritual. There are few things I love more in this life than a clean house that smells like laundry detergent and feels like pajamas. Do you know that feeling? There was sweeping and mopping and dusting and polishing and scrubbing:
And then after a shower and makeup (finally) I went to Winn-Dixie where they had roses for $1.99 per bundle. I bought a dozen white and a dozen yellow, brought them home, loosened the blooms and put them in pitchers with some boxwood clippings from the yard, and felt like I had done something major to the rooms, even though it was almost free.
And since Scott and Rachel invited us over for dinner, I made a big salad with lots of bell peppers, sun dried tomatoes, green onions and parmesan with homemade ranch dressing.
Now if we could just get some consistent sunshine...
